I have decided to... BRING IT ON... P90x beginner

To tell you the truth I got a bit tired of going to the gym all these years and do the same things over and over again.

My schedule is really busy (when will the money ever come really? That was irrelivent with the topic but a question I cannot stop thinking of) so I do not have many options.

This is why I have decided to start working at home and for this reason I got the P90x dvd's.

I purchased a yoga mat with blocks, push up bars and resistance bands (had already a pull up bar installed at home).

Today I completed my first week and this is what I can say so far.

I LOVE IT.

I am always sceptistic when it comes to over advertized products but I have to say that this time these guys did it.

Excellent work, great workouts, inspiring instructor and a good breakdown of exercises.

You get to work out 6 times a week and not once do you repeat a dvd, which means that there is a very good variety.

The exercises are hard but they CAN BE DONE even at a slower rate and still produce results.

Even I who considered myself to be somewhat fit, I had a hard time performing all of the routines in the requested rythme, but I was not discouraged when I could not make it.

After all, as it is mentioned in the DVD, Rome was not built in one day so I definitely have a long way to go.

I am a bit embarassed into posting a "Before" photo of myself but I will post a photo when I reach my "After" goal.

Will that be in 90 days? We will see.

I saw this movie almost by accident while changing uncontrolably channels on TV, trying to find something worth watching.

The reviews I had heard about this one were from so and so to bad.

BUT, in here there is a hidden treasure named Michael Douglas.

The man delivers some of the best lines EVER said in the movies!

I STRONGLY recommend watching it with men in the company as they will definitely appreciate the humor!

Cream #3 - L' oreal Perfect Slim results

I cannot say that I am completely overjoyed with the final results of Perfect Slim as I have notice a stability in the appearance of cellulite.

On the other hand, cellulite has not grown either and I found a special discount of the same product at the super market, which was hard for me to resist.

So, I keep going strong with Perfect Slim and we will wait and see what are the final results in a few weeks.

Solgar so far update #2

It has been a while since I purchased Solgar for nails, hair and skin and so far I can say the following:

Like my previous comments I did not notice any huge difference in my nails. But then again I did not have a big problem with them anyway.

Regarding the hair, I am waiting for the completion of 30 days since my last visit to the hairdresser and I will take a ruler and see the difference in my roots (my color is a red-ish now), so in case I check a 1cm and over growth, I will be quite happy.

So far I can say that I notice less hair left in my brush, so that is an improvement.

The biggest difference was made in my skin and I was really happy about it.

There is a certain glow now which I am very fond of and motivates me in further using this product.

However, every month right before my period I get break outs on my face which were not stopped this time either even with the daily use of Solgar.

After a week passed, my skin went back to normal with the Solgar imporovement.

Will wait for the whole bottle to finish so that I can reach a decision on wether or not this purchase was worth it.

It is not safe and it is stupid.

A couple of days ago I saw a photo of Kim Kardashian wearing a 12cm high heels pair of shoes (maybe it was higher than that... I don't know exactly...) and was trying to get off a car and walk in a street full with snow and ice.

My thought was not "wow, nice shoes", but rather "wow, that is so stupid".

Same thing yesterday, I came accross a photo of two young girls wearing extra short jean shorts with no stockings and high heels, walking in a street with over 3 m of snow on each side... and I fell really sorry for their stupidity.

So, forget about the idiots in fashion who tell you that during winter you have to be dressed like a Brazilian super model while walking in Ipanema during summertime or whatever lame excuse they use in order to torture you, and PUTS SOME CLOTHES ON!

Shu Uemura brushes

Some ages ago, it was definitely last century, I purchased a Shu Uemura blush brush.

Was it expensive? YES!

Was it worth it? A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

All these years later and the brush that I so highly paid for, remains amazing and very soft.

Proper use of concealer

Many years ago when I started using make up, I made the mistake of putting the concealer before the foundation.

A make up artist told me that this was the wrong way to do it because then I lose all the highlighting that the product can offer.

Therefore FIRST put on foundation and THEN concealer under the eyes.

I prefer to put a smaller quantity first and if needed I add up.

We have to be careful though because if we use too much then the extra product will sit between the lines and the result will not be good.

I find it better to apply concealer with my fingers rather than with a brush but that is up to anyone's taste.

Just remember to find the RIGHT shade for your skin.

Don't go too dark and don't go too light.

I enjoy reading books and especially biographies.

This book came to me accidentally, I was gazing at a bookstore looking for something to buy and I found it.

I have to admit that I bought it out of curiosity mostly because I had never heard of this woman before and I am glad I dit because it turned out to be a very interesting.

Was she the prettiest courtesans of her era?

In my opinion, no.

In fact I do think she was that pretty at all, but to the standards of her era she was considered hot... go figure.

I believe that this was mostly because she was so bold and had a lot of nerve.

Anyway, back to the book I find that it illustrates wondefrully a period that people of today look from a romantic point of view.

It is worth reading because you can see the amazing story of a woman who did it all.

Was it worth it? This is a question that can have many different answers.

BUT I have to admit that this was a really funny movie which I enjoyed watching last weekend at home a lot.

Sandler was not so bad and Aniston was really funny.

Four Christmases

Last week I was able to see on TV the film Four Christmases.

Booooooooooring!

I had constantly the feeling that the actors would prefer to be somewhere else than be in that film.

I could not stop changing the channel and returned only to see if there was any real action or a real joke for a change..

But... nothing.

Too bad because I like all the actors that were in it.

Solgar so far

It has been a few days since I started taking the Solgar skin nails and hair product and I can say the following:

1) My skin has a definitely improved tone.

Less visible dark circles under my eyes (almost to none dare I say) and a nice glow make my face look more relaxed.

There is no change in wrinkles but who knows, after a couple of months use maybe there will be some improvement there as well.

I have no idea if this is my fantasy or not, but I believe that my lips are a bit fuller as well.

I am not talking about a HUGE difference, but I have the feeling that they are a bit more "pumped" (?) than before.

2)  Yes, my nails have grown faster.

I did not have a problem with them being too weak so I did not notice any difference now, but they do seem to grow faster than before.

Since I am typing 8 hours a day, I expect to see a difference regarding strength in a couple of weeks or so.

3) To say that I have seen any huge difference in my hair would be a lie mostly because these days I have been keeping them on a bun.

BUT today I have scheduled an appoitment at my hair salon for my transformation into a redhead ... if I don't change my mind by then... so I expect to see if there is any difference in the growth rate after that (you know.. roots coming...)

OVERALL: quite pleased with it actually, I am giving it more time to see full range of results so I expect to have more news in about a month.

Het Sint Nicolaasfeest

My new blush

I needed a new blush and although usually I go for Dior products, this time I decided to try something different and boy have I not regretted it.

I got this lovely shade of soft peach from Clarins which is absolutely wonderful for my skin tone.

Also, since I like using blusher not just on my cheeks this one has different tones which I can use separately and have a great result.

For example the whole blush is used on my cheeks, I put the darker one as an eye shadow and the lighter one on my lips which along with a lip gloss gives a wonderful glow.

Excellent purchase I must say and congratulations to me.

Mission Impossible IV

I am soooooooo glad I found the time to see the new MI movie and was not forced to wait until it came on DVD.

I am a huge fan of Tom Cruise and I love his films.

But this time there were an extra bonus, as Jeremy Renner was also starring so I had an additional reason to FIND time and go to the movies.

I LOVED IT!

The first MI was a classic one, a typical spy movie with lots of mind games.

The second MI was a fiest for the eyes. A yummy Tom Cruise flying and flirting and fighting the bad guys (ooohhh Dougray Scott was one hell of a good looking bad guy). Overall I enjoyed it A LOT!

The third MI was my least favorite one. I mean come on, Ethan Hunt getting married? They tried to that years ago at the James Bond series but it just did not work. Not to mention the totally forgettable story;ine despite of all the great actors that were in it but could not elevate it.

But this one, oh oh oh this one had it all.

Tom is growing up and he knows it but he looks pretty damn good and he knows that too.

He has taken advantage of all his physical abilities and made some amazing stunds, he shows how funny he can be, and he leaves room for the younger ones which leads me to...

JEREMY RENNER!

He was so good and funny and hot but he was careful not to overstage Tom Cruise although they played an equal one-to-one game.

I really cannot wait for his next Bourne film.
